| | PEI Womens Business Association featured in the Business of the Month for July 2007: PEI Entreprenuer Launches Eco-Friendly Green House Cleaning Service Charlottetown PE: July 13, 2007 Scaling the peaks of a growing environmental consumer movement, and the steadily increasing problem of chemical sensitivies, PEI resident Melissa MacDonald launched an immediately successful non-toxic home and commercial cleaning business. With over 50% of Canadians suffering from some kind of chemical sensitivity, and knowing that every single day, 32 million pounds of toxic household cleaning products are poured down the drain, it was a natural transition for eco-conscious MacDonald to plant and grow this leafy green business. The spunky entrepreneur and her team of well-trained Cleaners, scrub, polish and brighten homes and businesses using only non-toxic, natural aromatherapy infused products paired with equal parts elbow grease & common sense. In addition to using several earth -friendly commercial cleaning products, MacDonald mixes up many of her own cleanswers inspired by tried and true recipes containing vinegar, baking soda, borax, castile soap, essential oils of lavender, tea tree, geranium, lemon and several other common , natural aromatherapy and sanitizing ingredients. "And with global warming, and other environmental problems becoming so critical, green cleaning is an obvious choice, " says MacDonald. "As consumers we have the power to control the level of toxins that enter our homes. With a little knowledge, we can give our families a much healthier life. Rethinking how we clean our homes and workspaces , is to me, the most logical place to begin this process."
